The best thing about Write for Business is that it is full of a wide range of sample documents or situations that students are likely to encounter at work. I teach business communication in a technical communication program and I did not find this book went quite deep enough in some topics for me. In particular, I want more information about document design and visual communication. However, I do recommend this as an excellent choice for internship preparation or career-prep courses. Very well presented material. It lays out the exact information I need to do well in my class. I'm very satisfied.
It has a lot of samples and guides. I found it useful to use not only in my English class but as well on other classes.
Great book to own, even after you are finished with school.
Came fast, and is perfect for my business writing class.
As for content, this book deserves five stars, as did the 1st edition. I'm rating the 2nd edition four stars because it doesn't include the companion CD (with an e-book, writing templates, and interactive lessons) that came with the 1st edition, and the companion CD is not sold separately. If you own the 1st edition of this book, I suggest comparing the content of the 2nd edition to that of the 1st edition and determining whether purchasing the 2nd edition is worthy.
